The road not taken....

Eh....macam Robert Frost je.....

The Road to Damascus.... (huh??)

The Road to El Dorado.....
Ehhhh....... where'd those come from....

The Road to Bidor (for Wu Kok- yam puffs).... and Teluk Intan... me Dad's hometown.....

Over the weekend, took leave on Friday and travelled wif mom and another relative up to Teluk Intan, Dad's hometown for 2nd uncle's funeral.

Survived the journey wif two aunties... (yeah la... my mom and the other aunty....)
Bleah... lol! actually not too bad lar, me n mom sang along to some songs (SOME were soooo sooo old and so not-valid to be listened to whilst driving....can put you to zzzzz-land man...) while aunt was sleeping at the back.
We made a pit stop at Bidor it's a family fave cos Dad loves the wantan mee and I love the Wu Kok (char-siew filled yam puffs)
We just had the wu kok and drinks.
Unfortunately, disappointed wif the Wu Kok cos it was cold and hard liao :((
We ta-paued the sponge cake...Yummmmmm was nice....

Reached TA (before it was called Teluk Anson) shortly before noon. Showered and had a quick lunch cooked by lovely aunt then went to 2nd uncle's home. Good thing not so many people lar... we managed to talk to aunt (and her sisters) and find out how it happened, and the sequence in the whole thing..... So sad.... kesian her oni.....

What happened was uncle was taking a shower in the bath tub and it was slippery. he slipped and injured his spine as well *yeowch*

My aunt and the travel agent yanked him out of the shower and quickly arranged for him to be sent to the hosp. (in that process they may haf injured him further...by carrying him the wrong way)

Went to the hosp.... they demanded CASH.... RMB 50,000 (which is RM 25,000) as deposit...
KNNCCB!!!! Daylight robbery lar liddat....

WHERE got people go holiday take so much ca$h one... bodoh......

Anyways, another uncle of mine was ngam ngam in Beijing at that time for a conference. He rushed to the hospital to talk to them and arranged the money etc etc....

Dah arranged for the money.... THe Specialist is not available... Wah liaooooooo..... dang!
So the dilly dally... My aunt begin to worry liao... she called home and asked her relatives to arrange for the hospital in Perak. to get ready la... As in fly uncle home and then treat him...
Went to ask the Malaysian Embassy... (the...oh-so-'helpful' people) just referred them to MAS office in Beijing
MAS said.. if wanna fly back,. ticket wud cost RM 50,000. Why? cos it's a special plane they haf to bring in the stretcher bla bla bla.....
ok... so half agreed... then got another problem... Doctor prescribed 3oxygen tanks but the plane can oni take 3.... argh!

by then, uncle punya semangat level sudah hit rock bottom........

It was over the weekend.... Monday evening slipped into a coma, Tuesday ... passed away oredi.....

Then made arrangements to fly the body back... but it costs RM 70,000. so the other uncle persuaded her to cremate there and bring back the ashes lor, no choice.

Flight touched down ard 1am on 27th Nov. 4th uncle (wif Dad accompanying him) drove aunt back to TA.

So liddat lor.....
Friday night went for the service. Saturday morning 11.30 was the 'burial' liao.

Condolences to your family.
Are all hospitals like that in Beijing? If so, then they suck!
I'd sue the hotel too for having slippery bathrooms. They should provide non-slip mats.
